Track guide rail system by TSO
Im a huge fan of Festool. Even a bigger fan of aftermarket ideas too.
I love my Parf system. Its magnificent.
I thought people would be interested in this rail alignment kit: https://tsoproducts.com/tso-products...e-rail-square/

Very tempting to buy straight away until I checked out the price.
Noticed that it is available from Carbatec NZ, but cheaper (today) from the US including postage.
Put on my wish list.

Hmmmm, for that sort of money you can have one of the 600mm Woodpeckers Try Squares which will be less than 5 seconds, but has other applications.....
Or you could make your own square to do the same thing for a fraction of the cost.....
Or you could just use a bench hook to square up the track......
Here's another aftermarket site for you to drool and ponder over:

I have the Betterley Straight Line Connector for guide rails, and it's excellent. I also have the Betterley zero clearance guide for the Kapex, and it is also very good, but is less than zero tolerance after the first bevel is cut. Certainly it still stops larger pieces dropping into the slot.

I've gone from Festool to the Bosch guide rail system and use Mafell cordless saws which are compatible.
The Bosch guide rails are cheaper, lighter and the system for joining takes seconds and is superior to the Festool.
Their rubber edge strip is also better and doesn't peel off.
After having now used this for 6 months would not go back to Festool for a track saw system.

You obviously purchased your Bosch tracks prior to June before Bosch changed their dealer network. There are no dealers currently selling Bosch Track saws. A couple have it listed in their catalog but last time I checked, Bosch didn't have a single saw in the country.
Where did you get your Mafell?

I was going to purchase my saw rails from Just Tools but they discounted there Bosch tools by 20% when they had the dealership taken off them and they sold out straight away.Went to Bunnings and ordered them there and got 10% off the Just Tools price. The Bosch saw actually comes out of the Mafell factory and is a well made saw.The only thing it doesn't have is the riving knife but this is not a deal breaker for me.
Purchased my Mafell KSS 40 from Ebay Germany from a company called Bort and Herkert. They are excellent to deal with.I bought the bare tool and then purchased the Metabo LiHD batteries for the saw here.
Mafell tools are excellent just very expensive.I imagine the reason we have no Mafell dealership in Australia is that the market for these high end tools is just too small..
If you want more info on Mafell tools go to the Mafell users group.
The Bosch plunge saws can be purchased from Sydney Tools:https://sydneytools.com.au/bosch-gkt...saw-gkt-55-gce

Used my TSO GRS-16 rail alignment accesory for the first time. I was amazed. Even though I was only cutting narrow (42 and 85mm) boards, with little or no clamping the cuts were an accurate 90 degrees. It was a big time saver.
If any members in Melbourne would like to try it, please send me a PM and I will see what I can arrange.

I am thinking of getting one, I have the Festool track and clamp and find that it is not as good as I had hoped.

Has anyone bought one for a Scheppach track saw or know if the Scheppach track is exactly the same as a Makita one?
Cheers
Update
Just did some image searching - Makita has the outer slot on the top that takes the hold on clip but the Scheppach has the slot on the bottom - bummer!Last edited by Lappa; 31st December 2017 at 08:24 PM. Reason: update.

Perhaps this might be a look: https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-16...w-kit_p6290615.
Anybody tried one of these yet?

Interesting. Two 700mm tracks would make it interesting to trim the width of a door, but if you were to buy additional kits you would still be finacially infront compared to Festool. Only one track joiner though, there must be a reason Festool use two. Would be interesting to compare cuts with another make of track saw.
Sorry I am happy with what I have.
