I would say, no, they are not worth the price. I've had mine for 4 years and find it to be pretty ordinary.
And it has no cool features at all.
I have learnt from the Festool Owners Group forum that the Bosch jigsaw was just as good, if not better than the Trion.
I would highly recommend that you purchase the new Festool Carvex jigsaw.
It is possibly the best jigsaw in the world. The only other jigsaw that would be in the same category as the Festool Carvex would be the new Mafell.
The Carvex is not cheap, so make sure you are sitting down when you look at the prices!
There are different configurations, such as 240 volt or 14.4 volt cordless versions.
If you really have your heart set on purchasing the Trion, then maybe look at the Protool version, which is a Trion, only its black, orange and slightly cheaper.
Cheers, Justin.

Thanks Justin,
Have you got a Carvex? What did you go for cordless or 240V? Did you get any accessories with it?

No I dont own one.
But the carpenter working for me has owned a Carvex for 6 months.
He has the 240 volt version. He also has all the accessories.
I have used the circle cutter and it is awesome.
There is no comparison between the Trion and the Carvex.
The Carvex makes the Trion look like a DIY tool.
I hope to purchase a 14.4 volt cordless version and the new Festool 14.4 volt Impact Driver in October directly from Germany.
The Impact Driver and the Carvex use the same batteries.
I have noticed the Carvex versions in Germany also use 18 volt batteries.
Justin.

I'd agree, I've had mine for years and also thought it was 'ok...' not as sexually stimulating as other festool stuff I've bought and love too bits.
All the crap talk they said about it, Ie. Cutting heaps thick hardwood (I forget spec. But in excess of 50 mm) dead square, Be lucky if it would do 45 mm in softwood!
Like to try the carvex
