You really live up to your newly acquired title, Lignum.

You chose to read only what you think is being said. Your answers are generally unresponsive and as I said previously, you're an aggressive person.

I would agree with underused about the trenching, the Makita has too much flex at the stop to cut a trench as well as that.

You are a fool because you are blind. Blind in that you believe the hype, even if it is well founded. When you have done some research, experienced the tool and can comment on reality, then feel free to do so. I will read it and if it is as good as the hype, might even consider buying it if it is not 300% more than it's competitors.

I wont however buy one until I know for a fact, that the machine is the ant's pants. Again, the Makita I have is an accurate machine. Dont take my word for it, read the reviews of the experts. I guess that would not include you.

You want to keep having a go at me for daring to question the hype or statements like "I need one for fix-outs" then feel free. I can handle everything that comes from persons like yourself. Yes, even the reddies.

You like to portray yourself as some sort of guru. Well as far as that is concerned, your designs and work do not reflect that. Your enthusiam however for things in which you believe, well that's another thing.

One day I hope to be as occupied as you showing the world how much I love one brand of tool. If only I was so important.

How do i try and portray myself as a guru? If my enthusiasm for woodwork is over the top and thats how it comes across well so be it. And ive never said my designs or work reflect that. If you dont like what i say or my designs or any post, fair enough, just put me on ignore. I dont see why you are getting all stressed over a few words in a post.

IMHO you have an attitude that shows through your posts. I respect your ability to do the work that you do, so dont see what I said as a derogatory statement, although I could easily understand that it could come across as such. I just dont like authoritative attitudes.

(For what its worth, I'll emphasise that the work I've seen is not below par by any measure)

You get so worked up over "your own opinion" that you dont read other's posts in the way in which they were intended to be read. Then you perceive criticism where there is no criticism. You dont see it written that I think the Kapex is a bad tool, more that it does not appear to be a ground breaking one like their Domino, of which I am a huge fan. Nor does it appear that it will be good value, but I may be proven wrong there.

I dont like many of the Festo practices. The worst is the price of their accessories, for which I have had to fork out 100% more than my American counterpart. Then there is some of their marketing (not just Festo BTW). Even Festo addicts can see that. I'll repeat it again, their tools are very good examples of what tools should be but they are not the best in every category.

Lets just let this go. I'm not angry about this and I cant see a reason you should be. You dont own Festo after all. Anyway, I'll leave it to you to decide how this ends.

I'm told by a local Festool retailer that there will be little change from 2K.

    Hi Wood Duck

A quick calculation of Euro to A$ late yesterday gives a straight conversion of approximately E1181.81=A$2000 and E1961.12=A$3200.00.
This is before freight and other charges and also no easily claimable warranty! Just some food for thought.

    Regards

    Rob

I don't know how much sales tax is in Australia, but the Dutch prices are with 19% sales tax included.

Thanks Frank-Jan, not only for that info but for the brilliant info you have supplied up to date. Goods and Services tax here is 10%, but there would also be duty, but I'm not sure what this would be.So maybe the prices will end up similar to the Netherlands and a direct exchange rate is appropriate.

    Regards,

    Rob

    To the Kipax yearners,

This site is a UK based company with full details of the Kipax in English, along with a price in English pounds.

Thanks for the link Rob. I didn't know this was a variable speed saw before. I like this feature because I sometimes need to cut plastics and the reduced blade speed helps get a better cut without melting.

    The exchange rate A$ v Pound at 5.20PM today = .40245

The price of the Kapex quoted on the Power-Tool-World site in A$ = $1660.00 + VAT for the basic saw and $2728.00 +VAT for the saw plus a table and some other accessories.
