black walnut bandsaw box
hello everybody I bought a couple of walnut blocks off of Greg ward and I will be starting a few projects with them.
I will be posting a few pictures of the construction of them, when I get some free time off of school of course.
so I only have 1 question, has anybody had much experience with working with walnut? if you have how easy is it to work with.
pictures are going to be posted very soon!

pictures
so now I have started.
I have cut off the back of the box and the drawers and the outside shape.
but when I was gluing the main box back together I hit a really big problem, when I glued the incisions back together the parts between the drawers had snapped off! after that I had glued it up and glued the brocken bits back together and hopefully it will be ok when I glue the back on.indeed.

bandsaw blades
HI ELI SZOKO
Yes you can use smaller blades , when makeing bandsaw boxes you will need 6mm ten teeth per inch, and 3/16 ten teeth per inch to cut tight corners.

hey eli I use a 6tpi 3/8" blade and I managed to turns like in the picturealso for harder woods like sassafras or walnut you might want to go down to a 6tpi 3/8" instead of a 3/16" 10tpi because that will easily break with thick hard woods but with thick pine it is fine
indeed.

Did you break the cross drawer bottom supports? I did that very thing, not allowing a decent thickness for the bases. I had a few problems of getting my sides to thin as well. I've fix that. Most of my cuts are with a 3/16" 10pti.
From you last pic, are you using a blade stabilizer??

I dont glue the cuts for that reason and I use them to enhance the piece, but then that is my preference. I make a lot of these and just bevel the cut to show it off also.

mr pederson: yes the draw supports had broken off but a bit of glue fixed that
and yes I was using blade stabilizers in the picture.
Seer: yes I will have to try that some day but do you glue the entry cut or not
Eli szoko: thanks for the feed-back and I wish you luck with your future projects!
and by the way guys a warning with using black walnut it seriously smells like some one has puked but it looks fantastic
