Dewalt dw876 parts and blades?
Hi guys,
I just scored a dewalt dw876 bandsaw for free... surplus to a mates needs he's gifted it to me.
I'm trying to work out where to get a fence for it from? I'm not having much luck with my online hunting.
Also, it seems to have an odd blade length of 2215mm, and I'm struggling to find blades for it... can anyone point me in the direction of a supplier, preferable in Melbourne? It's been so long since my mate has bought any for the saw he can't remember where he used to get them from.
Cheers.

Any saw sharpening place can make bandsaw blades to any size for you, no need to buy them ready made off the shelf.
Timbecon sells an aftermarket bandsaw fence I seem to remember.

Don't buy anything from Dewalt Spares in Australia unless you want to mortgage your house or sell your first born.
I buy my blades from Henry Bros. but their in Sydney.

Thanks, i've just put an order in with them... Looking forward to having a crack at a few bandsaw boxes when I get it all up and running.
Would any of you offer any suggestions to what the limits of this saw might be, particularly from a resawing point of view? It's got a 200mm vertical clearance, but like most things, I doubt it's wise to attempt to resaw a 200mm thick piece of redgum. But i'd appreciate any advice you guys could give me.
I've ordered a 5/8 3tpi, a 1/4 6tpi and a 3/16 10tpi blade and will start with light loads on them until I get a feel for what the saw can handle.
Cheers.

Got the blades and had a bit of a play this weekend. The 5/8 3tpi had no issue resawing 120mm redgum that I was making a small box from.
The 3/16 10tpi then did some internal cuts with 20mm radius curves in a 30mm thick piece of the resawn redgum.
The blades are good, and cheap (not bi-metal ones)... and the saw is awesome, especially for a freebie!

Hi Wynterplace,
What part of Melbourne are you located in?
There are two suppliers in the Northern suburbs
if you are interested. Northern Sharpening Services in Trade Place Reservoir
and Express Sharpening in Campbellfield. Both will cut to your size if required.Life is short ... smile while you still have teeth.

Hey, man. Your Dewalt looks pretty good. How's the performance so far?
een eyeing a Dewalt bandsaw too, but still gotta decide if I'd get that or a Skil. So, you know, I've been reading around. Ironic that they'd been beside each other in a ranking for 2017 in this one site. Personally, it's a really close battle so I'mm having a hard time making up my mind.
