    Default Dingo on the Rocks

Over the last few days, I thought I'd put my umpteen other projects on the furthest back backburner and play around with some of my ever growing offcuts pile...this is the result so far.

Still need to give him an eye and nose, finish the finish, trim and frame. Will end up about 3/4ish of an A4 sheet.

Not sure I'm all that happy with it as an end product, but very happy with it as an end result considering the learning curve. Had a lot of fun along the way too.

Looks good to me - and the title sounds like a good name for an Australian cocktail .

    Thumbs up

Like it!! The rocks are excellent anthe dingo is the right "look".

Just a point about the dingo. The arrangement of the pieces around the tail and rear legs
    just seem to be odd.

    Totally agree.

There's been a few things that haven't turned out the best...like the frame stock I knocked up this arvo. I ended up having to cut the image down to a bare minimum due to lazy guesstimating. Unfortunate, but looks ok.

Just need to glue it up tomorrow and finish the shellacking.

I think the smaller size looks better. To me it centralizes the figure.

Bit of a bugger of a day today. Had been slapping on the shellac, when just as I was starting to achieve a nice uniform gloss the weather cooled, the humidity increased and things went pear shaped. Each additional coat started to go cloudy due to the unfavourable conditions.

After trying to save it, I decided to strip it in order to prevent having to persist with it again tomorrow. Fortunately, the frame wasn't quite as bad so I settled for a light rub back and then hit it with some wax. As for the image, gave it a coat of oil just so I could be done with it.

A few more finishing off bits and then I can get back to my other projects.
