Just search for "adjustable handle m(insert thread size)" on eBay. I bought some nice European made ones for the vernier, they are nicer than the chinsy ones but just not worth the cost.

Hi Fellas,
When I fitted the reader scale to front of the table on the RF 31, I needed longer table lock screws, I couldn't find ratchet screws in the length/thread that I needed but my local bolt place had T handles which do the job, at the time they were about $5.00 each.

Yeah well. First things first. Happy New Year to you Ewan and all the other good people on her giving nuffies like me the benefit of your collective wisdom. It is really appreciated. As I said when I first introduced myself, my father was a master toolmaker/fitter and turner and he would have been my first port of call but he is no longer with us sadly. He would be up there having fits now watching me. So youse blokes are all father figures to me!
And I am nearly 66!
On with the thread. I finally located the gib adjusters. I was looking for the old nut and screw type but couldnt find any. Finally figured out I had tapered gibs and located the adjustments accordingly. Boy were they a long way off the mark. Made such a difference to the machine. I can actually make a reasonably smooth pass now without all the chatter. I reckon I can actually make this thing work now with some sharp cutters and a bit of a read up on feed rates etc etc.
