Chainsawing dirty wood
Not strictly metalworking, but as it involved endless filing of chainsaw teeth and I know a number of people here would have been in this situation, thought I'd ask here.
Does anyone have any good tips on chainsawing dirty wood? Well, other than more chains
I have a current situation (and it's very similar to some others I've done) where I'm removing a stump and need to cut through the roots. In this instance it's made especially difficult as it's in a super tight location and I can't dig around it much with the excavator. As anyone who has done something similar would know, as soon as a chain touches dirt it will be immediately blunt. In this case the stump is surrounded by sandy soil and, wait for it, blue metal
