    Default ctc

Received a flyer from from CTC, Enco and Travers this morning

looking at the carbide endmills I think Heine (CTC) is getting a tad expensive for TiAIN coated cutters, (and it also seems that that is the case with some of his other gear)

I dont think so, by my recollection CTC was a lot cheaper back a few years ago...he now seems more expensive than Enco going by same coated end mills..yes I know they are of different manufacture but and again he was cheaper...

    Richard and Young Rod,

I reckon CTC's products are still cheap when compared to similar items made in, say, Europe or America but they are not as cheap as some other Chinese sellers of often identical items. I have a number of well finished boring bars that I purchased on eBay for roughly half the cost of those offered by CTC. Here is an example, a 10mm diameter bar -

I'm not slipping into CTC. They have made tooling affordable and accessible. Without them, a lot of us would still be using lantern tool posts.

YES...they have served me well in the past, but I still say he is getting dear...especially when I compared the end mill I wanted

Yeah he used to be cheaper I was looking for a dovetail cutter they used to cost $14 and now are $26 and I'm sure the quality has not improved so I bought a dormer for $35 which used to be too expensive
