Camera mount
I've just knocked up a drawing of the part I want to anodise matt black.
I've got the material and wonder what something like this would cost at retired engineer's rates.
I'd do it myself, but it's just a little too big for my teensy little Unimat 3 lathe/mill.
Looks like Ritz black fabric dye will do the staining.
Drawing attached
Incidently, why did I get a big fat question mark when trying to upload the pdf file?

Modified camera mount
I have modified the camera mount that I want to anodise.
Anyone like to have a go at this in exchange for some "medicine"? I can probably supply the material.
Out of curiosity, how would the R3 corner rads be machined?
Drawing attached.

Camera mount
I must say I'm disappointed at receiving only 756 offers of help, what's wrong with the rest of you?
Of course this statement is tongue in cheek, not one inquiry.
However, good news, my little project is now complete thanks to a dear friend. It took him all of 15 mins.
You missed your chance, better luck next time. to my benefit, I get to keep the case of Johnny Walker Black and the free full body massage.

Sorry Stu,
I'll save the JW Black and full body massage for next time, you'll be first on the list.
Cheers,

Hi Pipeclay,
I noticed in your post that you get your steel blackening done very cheaply, if you don't mind can you tell me what the name of the company is.

Blackening
Hi Pipeclay
1. Do you have your own secret recipe for blackening steel? If no, I would also like to know where you get it done.
2. Anyone, where does one purchase a small quantity of sulphuric acid? Say 1 litre

I buy mine from a local place called the Battery Factory. Most of the more industrial battery places should have it, and some Supercheap Auto places still sell it by itself.
Protip: It rides in a plastic bucket in the boot....don't ask how I know what it does to boot carpet....

Anodising camera mount,
I'm a tad reluctant to have a go at diy anodising. The sulphuric acid bit worries me, so, can anyone recommend an anodiser in the West Heidelberg/Thomastown area, say within 20km of Heidelberg.
Do you reckon matt black powder coating would be just as durable?
