Expressions of interest in a very cheap gillotine
Good evening metal workers. My workplace owns a 1300mm wide capacity sheet metal guillotine that is supposed to cut up to 1.6mm sheet metal. It would be the equivalent of the $1600 Hare and Forbes (cheapie Chinese made) treadle guillotine. It has been used for light work over the last 15 or so years and is just about to be replaced by another machine. It has had the blades sharpened and realigned before and the fella said that it is the last time the blades can be sharpened. It has only been used to cut 0.55 and 0.75 at my work. If you bought this machine, at the very least, the blades would need to be realigned and at worst, you would have to replace the blades (don't ask me where to get them or how much they cost). Given that this bit of equipment will need to disappear from our workshop in the next fortnight, is there anybody out there who would is interested in looking at and making an offer on it? It would be sold in "as is" condition, with the potential buyer knowing full well that it needs some work and will most probably need some money spent on it to get it back to optimal working condition? If there is no interest, it may well end up going to the scrap metal yard. You must also have the capacity to load this gillotine - we will not be lifting it for you - there is no forklift on site (perhaps heavy duty wheeled trolleys or an engine crane to get it out of the workshop and a hire truck with the 500kg hydraulic tail lift or a crane truck to load it - the guillotine is about 12m from where it can be loaded. The other option is to dismantle it and wheel it out in pieces) The guillotine is located in the Morningside area (east side, Brisbane). Inspection preferred between 7:30am and 4:00pm. Thanks.

Hi ,
If someone ends up with this guillotine , I can probably help with advice on re setting the blades.
It's the same model as the school workshop had. I had that one cutting A4 typing paper like a pair of scissors after a bit of TLC.
Cheers
Grahame
