They are definately getting on the high side. I was looking at a few small things but decided to wait after I saw the postage.

Yes, and often the same item can be bought off EBay for less with much cheaper, or even free, postage. For example onlineseller68 sells ER40 collets with free postage.

i was going to get three 10x24 taps last week and it was just over 10 bucks postage...

but there does seem to be a minimum postage fee.ie adding a another tap didnt alter postage...added 2 more which did by about $2

    Default CDCO tools

    Hi all,
Just a heads up about CDCO, I ordered and paid for some gear on the 20th of October. The order has not arrived and a claim was made and paid through Paypal. I emailed Frank about the non appearance a couple of times but received only one reply stating the order was sent. I'm not sure if it got lost in the mail or what and maybe it will arrive one day, if it does I'll resend the refunded amount. I have ordered successfully from Frank before as well as numerous other US suppliers.
Hopefully this instance is a one off as I have heard of no issues with CDCO before.

Something I didn't know about negative feedback on ebay.
I purchased an inductive proximity senor that I think was DOA. I contacted the seller and after one email they stopped replying. After a few more emails with no reply I left neg feedback. I then raised a paypal dispute saying it was DOA (more to be a bit of a pain than anything else). I asked for $2(of the $3.55) refund as I have asked for full refund before and they just say "return it registered post" which they know you aren't going to do.

Anyway, I got my $2...... but my neg feedback has now been moved to positive.

    Hi,
Just thought I would let you all in on a good deal through an ebay seller.

We have all seen the YS tool company on ebay and elsewhere like Ali express, a while back I found this store below which mainly deals in bulk buys but also has singles. eBay My World - bsello168

I ordered this lot below and was I was surprised to see everything had the YS tool company stickers on the containers as I have always found the YS gear to be as expensive if not more expensive as CTC tools.

It was around a month ago I decided to buy and after after asking if he had any ER32/NT30 collet chucks I ordered 10 x ER32/NT30 collet chucks for $292 US posted. I asked him about some other gear and he said he could do a good deal on postage if he held back my original order and posted the lot together. I found the more I bought the cheaper it got as far as postage goes.

    I ordered
2 x ER40/NT30 collet chucks with nuts (26 usd each)
10 x ER32/NT30 collet chucks with nuts (19 usd each)
5 x ER20/NT30 collet chucks with nuts (19 usd each)

    2 x ER40 collets (25/26mm) (6.50 usd each)
    5 x ER32 collets (20mm) (4 usd each)
1 x set of ER20 collets (12pc 2-13mm) (45 usd set) I found these to be a bit expensive but was ordering the other gear and saving on everything else.

This whole lot came to $539.60 Aussie dollars posted.
I ordered on the Friday night and it arrived on the Tuesday lunch time by DHL. I was surprised to see he also threw in a free ER40, ER32 and a ER20 spanner. All the chucks where in containers and the collets where all in plastic snap lock boxes other than the 2 ER40 ones which where in cardboard boxes.

CTC don't have a ER20/NT30 so I substituted it for a BT30 just for pricing and there price including postage is $834.48 for the same lot, and with the spanners it's $858.76, a big difference in price with is a saving of $318.56 which is more than enough to buy another 10 x ER32/NT30 collet chucks off this guy posted.

I know everyone loves pictures so here are a couple. It was an early Christmas present to myself as I no longer have a minister of finance.

    Hi Dave,
Why so many collet chucks? Why not just one and a bunch of different sized collets to fit?

17 plus the 6 I have already. It saves tool changes and my mill being Cnc'ed is just around the corner.
I ordered 5 x 19-20mm ER32 collets as I have a stack of tools 20mm. Things like the edge finder, 45 degree cutter, 20mm roughing end mill, 20mm insert end mill, and a heap of others.
This way I just grab a tool and once I install my power draw bar it's a quick change and your milling again.

Forgot to mention I have sets of collets here as well so I can load other size tools in the chucks like 3mm, 10mm, 12mm etc and have them on hand. It's really not necessary but it makes things a lot quicker if you don't have to take the chuck out and then go and change the tool each time. This way they all sit on the rack and you just load them strait in and you can set up all the tools you need for a job at the start. I have been doing this already but have fallen short because I didn't have enough collets of the same size and chucks.
The smaller chucks are handy for getting into small spaces where you would rub the ER32-40 nut. You can use longer tooling but it flexes as you get smaller end mills.

    PS
I spoilt the lathe with making 46 QC tool holders plus the 6 factory ones I have, so it's the mills turn, LOL

Sounds good. I'd love to see your tooling collection. Would make mine look paltry!

In years to come you will have the same, it just accumulates over the years.

Frank must be getting really sick of AUSPOST. I had a couple of orders severely delayed. One of them AUSPOST returned to sender after keeping it at the Post office for a month. They only problem was AUSPOST never told me it was there to collect, even though I had collected other parcels.
On another occasion two parcels posted together arrived weeks a part.
Keep your eye on the parcel tracking.

Australian post can be strange, I had a dovetail jig sent to me from down south about a month ago, it was registered and after my mate contacting me asking if it was there I went exploring and checked on line only to find the number wouldn't work.

I went to the local post office as I have moved, then rang my old post office and they said the same thing that they had nothing there. I ran the registered post number off to them after asking my mate for it, but they said there was nothing there and the number didn't work, I then rang the Australian post site and they said the number didn't work either.

He went to his post office where he posted it and they said the number worked fine and it had been tried to be delivered but returned to the post office, then to the sorting center and back to the post office. I then rang the post office again with this info and they still could not help.
He then got his post office to ring my post office and it turned out some how the senders name had now become the receivers name.

After ringing them after this she said she only looked on the end of the package and not the top, (it had sender written above his name) but who knows why the number didn't work.

So I finally got it about 2-3 weeks latter but what a muck around and this was only posted in Australia.

    G'Day Fellas,
Just about to order a 1 micron digital indicator, can't afford a Mitutoyo at the moment so have to go Chinese , compared prices, CTC $65.25 posted, YS Tools $49.85 posted, in the past I have found YS Tools delivery much faster (about a week compared to 2-3 weeks for CTC).
    Regards,
    Martin

Yes. Their shipping is seriously expensive. I would expect it to come on the back of a swan at these prices.
