I see CTC Tools has added more products to their line up....

Including QCTP holders.... Bit pricey though.... Quality would have to be very good to pay those prices..

Just got a big package of mill tooling from ctc today. Havent had a chance to look at it but its very well packaged as always. After not getting a response to emails about surface shipping I sent them a pdf of the checkout screen with all the stuff i wanted and got a reply in a couple of days. $100 for surface shipping vs $300 normal air freight for 18kg of stuff so a pretty dramatic difference. Paid on 22nd of september and it landed at the post office on the 31st of october so not for the impatient.

A few years ago I had a bad experience with them buying a Dremel. They sent me shop soiled/used tools. Complained and they apologised and sent me another shop soiled item. At that point I swore off ever buying from them again.

    Default Redwood machinery

    Still closing down

Seriously though, he is trying to, and has moved a lot of stock - visibly less now.

Be a real bummer when he shuts shop.

Apparently aiming for middle of next year, but at the rate it's happening I have my doubts.

    It's getting better Dean.

Most of his cheap sanding belts have gone, same with the riggers gloves (I bought most left of them), air tools are down, welding rods are all gone, button air connectors are down, lot of air tools are gone, back shed has less, and the outside area has lots of big stuff gone.

I will be sorry to see him go. I've always found him helpful. Prices are good on some stuff and not so good on others. But he doesn't sell crap.

BTW I don't know what's going on at Paramount Browns, but it seems like all new people there. The guys on the floor appear to know diddly about lathes.

I see they no longer sell my faithful old lathe (CQ9325).

The replacement model looks like a step backwards - didn't impress.

    Don't get too excited.

We are talking comparatively here, still a very long way to go.

I think I even saw ground zero in a couple of places - just.

They are very cheap...I did notice their carbide endmills stated for use in cast iron and non ferrous metals.
