If you can work out a method of cutting it, you could select one of the good teeth and cut across the blade and make a parting blade for your lathe. I did this with a big 24'' diameter rip saw blade that I had and it works. I used a friction blade to make the major cuts and trued it up with a grinder. If you can cut it you will end up with a lifetime supply of cut off tools.

here you go
Well heres a few just off the top of my head
[1] hand scraper ie bowl work
[2] small scraping heads/tools to be mounted on a shaft
[3] Sundry knives of all manner of use and shape
[4[ molding plane blades (hand type)
[5] Parting off tool (wood turning)
[6] beading tools
[7] tools for rose engine lathes
[8] furniture scrapers
[9] fine work chisels
[10] carving tools
What would be the chances of getting hold of .5m to a 1m of the stuff to have a play around with it? I have access to a plasma cutter which sounds like the best way to attack it.Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working. — Pablo Picasso

I used some similar stock a while back to make some weeding tools. They were loosely based on a traditional Vietnamese implement, the Ho-mi, and work a treat. I thought I had posted something on here at the time, but can't find it in a search??
I cut the rough shape with oxy, although would now use a plasma; grind to final shape; heated with oxy and hammered to shape on the anvil; then welded a mild steel collar in (heated with oxy before Mig welding, to lessen the thermal shock on the blade steel) for a wooden handle. I then hardened and tempered it back to springy, which was purple.
The steel is wickedly good, rocks don't affect it, and I have had no cracking around the weld, despite years of use. Great tool for Kykuya roots!

Hi Andy,
Weeding is against my religion, (except with a few gallons of roundup) but sounds like they work pretty well.
Samples have been posted.
Waldo, Hughie, and Wheelinaround, some bits are on the way, Just be careful when you open the parcel, there are sharp edges in there.
Wheelinaround, yours is packed in with Hughies. Approx 22" each, if you should make something out of it, I wouldn't mind seeing a picture.
We can sort out the postage later.
Regards
Ray

Ray many thanks for the blade, Hughie dropped it over Sunday with a major WARNING
ITS SHARP
I almost dropped it on my lap teeth down when he handed it to me
Ideas so far cut back of blade off card scrapers or one supersize 22"
OT cutters for a tooth or two
I am wondering if hit with a hammer to shape it a little will it shatter.
