    Default Lap grinding wheel

Not really metalwork, and certainly not woodwork.
My daughter and I are looking for a lap grinding wheel (motorised), second hand, and because of freight costs, in New Zealand.
    Can anyone offer any suggestions?
In case you were wondering, lap grinding wheels are used by glass artists, (and others), but have nothing to do with lap dancing.

    Cheers,

    Hi Rob
I lost interest when you said that.
I think that gemstone grinders would be what you are looking for. Try a few searches on that. If you are faceting the glass you might want something a bit more intricate.
    Cheers,

Is this the sort of glass grinder you are looking for?

If so, any leadlight supply place stocks them.

    Thanks Big Shed.
I'll pass your reference on to daughter and see what she says. I think we are after something quite a lot bigger.

Maybe try a lapidiary (sp?) supplier.

    Thanks again Big Shed.
Excellent catalogue, however, at $1900 or $2600 US, plus crating and freight, and 12.5%gst when landed here, second hand and local would be preferred.
    We'll keep looking meantime.

    Cheers
