Default Left Foot Accel Pedal Update

After I completed the mod, I rang my insurance company to let them know. As I had done the mod myself, they wanted an Engineering Certificate. There are no such people in town,so I rang the local service guy/vehicle inspection depot.
He made a few inquires and was told he could do the inspection.
I told him exactly what I had done ( cut and joined the pedal) and how I had done it and even showed him the pics I took, as most of it was hidden behind covers and the side plates. 9 I didn't want to mislead him at all.
Anyway, he was happy and I booked it in for a full inspection, a couple days later.
all was well, except for dealing with the bureaucrats! Each person we spoke to had a different slant on the rules, and one even suggested that I had to have TWO accel pedals fitted at the same time! ( very dangerous!)
After a lot of running around town and paying fees and getting refunds, its all sorted.
Apparently, the rules changed since I bought my last car....it was a few bewildered looks last time I did this and no body cared that much.lol

I also need a left foot accel after losing my leg 18months ago. And I have a set of flip up accel pedals. When 1 is up the other is down. So they can never be down together

Thats what I wanted to do, but my car is drive-by-wire and the closed business who does this kind of work is 200km away, said this can't be done and quoted me $3000 for a simple LH pedal.

What car did you mod? Did you do it yourself? If not what did it cost you, if you don't mind saying?
