    G'day perthnovice,

You can buy the fibreglass bodies from several manufacturers. Some of these same body makers also produce basic chassic's. You'll find them advertised in Australian Hot Rodding type magazine's.

The body sizes vary widely so each chassic would need to be custom made to suit. Basically they use modified go-cart chassic's except the motors are fitted at the rear not on the side like a go-cart.

I suggest buying the body you want then buy a used go-cart chassic and "make it fit" just like a real Hot Rod. There will be plenty of cutting, welding and fabricating by going this way, but you will have the basics, like the steering, drive shaft and wheels etc.. Used go-karts less motor are quite cheap particularly if they are a few years old and have seen some "bingles".

    Hope this helps.........Barry.
