Morwell swap meet mart?
Anyone else go to the Morwell swap meet mart today, in Toner's Lane? I arrived late at 8am, and was lucky to get a car park, there were thousands there already.
So many tools, and all good old fashioned quality. There must have been hundreds of Stanley planes, Sutton drill bit sets, spray guns, you name it, it was there for sale and at reasonable prices. Saw many mechanical micrometers, adjustable spanners, tons of drill bits, taps and wrenches, I was overwhelmed.
Forget about getting a coffee or something to eat, the queues were prohibitive. I reckon they would have got five thousand through by day's end.
It was a good morning and the weather was kind.

yes
Hi
I usually go to the Toners lane swap ..... I didn't make it this year
Swap meets and clearance sales always have tempting items , but you have to be very picky - otherwise your shed will quickly fill up with " stuff " that you will probably never use in your lifetime . Yes, at the car swaps the odd machining tool does appear among the mountain of Holden and Falcon parts - but you have to be lucky . Mike

Could kick myself now
I passed up a really good anvil. I couldn't believe the price, four dollars, until I tried to lift it. No way could I have lugged it back to my car.
That's how it goes.

G'day,
yes I was there got there at 7.15 got one of the last parking spots, In my opinion the prices of the dealers were way over the top
did a dozen or more laps, scored a Bailey #6 USA for $50 fairly rough but will clean up good. Thought I may have had a nice taylor oval skew but it was being sold as a package with an old Golding lathe for $500
There was one bloke with some particularly nice tools, with a price tag to match, but he had cleaned everything which I don't really like especially when it looks like it was done with 80 grit, didnt see to much sold at that stand. Bargains are getting harder to get (internet has done some damage me thinks). Even the older generation are on to Ebay heard a few talking about how they get their kids to list stuff for them. I sometimes wonder whether I am better off running the gauntlet on Epay
all in all it was a good turnout
