    Default Noga Indicator Base

I led myself to temptation yesterday when I ventured halfway across Perth to Jack's Tools in Gosnells. Jack's would be the last remaining seller of second hand tools over here ( excluding the profusion of pawn shops). I walked in and my eyes where drawn to the Noga sitting high on a shelf. Naturally enough, I bought it. These things are superb. The indicator holding clamp accommodates 8mm, and 3/8" shafts and DTI dovetails. It is also fitted with an invaluable fine adjuster. I know a few other forum members own these bases and have extolled their virtues previously. A nice product from Israel and well worth having.

    AB,

Your missus is a lucky women, being showered with precious gifts, every time you splurge out.
Unless of course, she stands beside you at the lathe, while you are tending to the mill.

How else do you get away with it?

    Nice pick-up.

She only knows about the Ebay purchases because there's a trail. She spent 70 bucks yesterday on a haircut. I spent 95 on the Noga. Close to even.

Did I ever mention that I snuck home with my second Hercus 9 without her ever knowing? Managed to get it around the backyard by myself. She helped me move the third Hercus, the ARL. She approved that purchase.

That's a nice looking base, Bob. I bought two etalon rigs a couple of years ago from a swiss ebayer. They had vacuum bases instead of the standard mag base. I still have the vac bases, but screwed the good bits onto el-cheapo Chinese mag bases.

(What is the equivalent of "el-cheapo"?)
