    I'd better get off then, as I don't touch the stuff. Did you know that Draught bottles/cans are the only beers, that show the manufacturer on the label!!!!!!

    I don't drink beer either but I compensate with bourbon!

    Girl, I don't wanna know about your mild-mannered alter ego or anything like that." I mean, you tell me you're, uh, super-mega-ultra-lightning babe? That's all right with me. I'm good. I'm good.

    Ken said "you had to drink beer", didn't say anything else. May be we should ask for a separate section for us "NON BEER DRINKERS"

    Bob, good point about the sharp edges. The temperature here is around 23C, very pleasant. If you thing we have it good, don't forget that 6 months ago when you were enjoying 35C we had -20C here.

    [QUOTE=neksmerj;1878564]Ruthart,

    Welcome to the best forum in the world.

    - Sure is the most fun.

    Just out of curiosity, how did you come across this Australian forum, it's billed as a woodwork forum, or was that gardening, photography, cnc, whatever, whatever?

    - I was googling and found a surface grinder rebuild thread. I am also into woodworking so I joined.

    didnt you contemplate making the entire assembly out of one piece?
    it seems "easy" on that type of toolpost.
    less overhang and no joint to flex.
    unfortunately i have got a Rapid style toolpost which makes it a lot harder to get it right.

    I sure did, might do it in the future.

    Thank you all for the welcome and the kind comments. Ken, I think I meet all three criteria, so I am here to say.

    Hi Guys,

    I'm not a beer drinker either...
    I much prefer the fermented grape juice, particularly the Australian Shiraz variety's.

    Welcome to the forum George. I do some woodworking too
