printing of threads

I wonder if the powers to be can put in a button to allow copying of an entire thread pictures and all.

At the present moment I copy and paste the required info into a word doc.But this means I have to open each page and copy the image separately and then do same with typed content. Copying the contents of each page by highliting with the curser doesnt work, as doesnt printing the thread

Copying pictures this way allows enlarging of a picture if I need to zoom in to see finer detail at a later date.

I put all this stuff in a folder/s called "To do" or "tools to make" or what ever topic suits etc

That ideas not bad. I put some stuff on my USB drive under the folder "workshop" I should copy more photos and threads than I do because I usually end up searching for stuff at a later date and then can't find it!

printing out as pdf doesnt allow easy caption of pics for enlarging at a later date. It also only prints one page of the initial thread

even if we were allowed to select, copy and paste (both typing and pics in one go) to a word doc would be better than I need to do at the moment.....

(remember I want the pic so that I can zoom in at a later date if needed.)
to save a multiple page post with lots of pics I have to do this:
copy contents of page 1
paste to a word doc ( pics dont show)
I then have to open each picture and save individually and then insert into relevant place in the word doc.
one needs to do this on every page of the post

some other forums allow showing the full thread as one doc...meaning you only need to scroll from the first to the last post.

Eskimo I don't know what browser you're using but you should be able to simply do a 'save as'. In Safari this produces a .webarchive file, which should do what you want. Except you'll have to save a separate file for each page. However in 'User CP' you can set your display options for up to 40 posts per page which may help. (Edit: default is 15 posts per page.)

and as for viewing the no of threads and changing the value in my CP...where?...i cant see it.....found it now set to forty...that still wont fix the picy problem though

also ...saving as web file saves images as small files...retaining clarity when zooming in is not there

How easily I can jump to a wrong conclusion.
I read the title of this thread and given it followed a thread on thread cutting in the lathe, I immediately thought -

"Wow, a new way to make threads in metal by a printing process"

- getting my wife a smart phone has meant portable access to these invaluable resources (when I can get the phone)

My physics teacher did that more than forty years ago to prove in class that a helix was a rolled ramp or triangle.

Take a sheet of paper and draw a diagonal line on it, then trim one side of the line, so that you have a paper triangle with a line along the hypotenuse. Wrap it around a dowel or round bar starting at the short side, you have a thread traced out. Doesn't even need a printer.
