Radius cutter for Mini lathe..dreamcutter
Hi, does anyone know much about these? It looks like maybe they are for sale soon but not sure if they are distributing them yet? I know I can probably make my own one up, but these days time is at a premium and would rather spend what little time i have producing the items i need.
Does anyone know of any one else producing one I can buy?
Here is the website. Dream Cutter Lathe Compound Radial Multi-Tool Home
Here is a vid of it. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1q5k_QcBZ0]YouTube - ‪Demonstrating the Dream Cutter‬‏[/ame]I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

Martrix, Little Machine Shop has 3 of these in a slightly different design.
LittleMachineShop.com - Ball and Radius Turning Tool, Large, OMW
LittleMachineShop.com - Ball and Radius Turning Tool, Small, OMW
LittleMachineShop.com - Ball Turning Attachment
MiniTech sells the last one as well
www.minitech.com.au: Product: 'Ball Cutting Set'
Although I think the first 2 are more useful as they do radius cuts as well.
The design in the video is based on the one on Steve Bedairs website and there are numerous designs floating around the various sites, but they're not much good to you as you don't want to make one.
One of these has been on my "todo" list almost as long as I have had my lathe, but it keeps getting pushed back by other projects.
His website talks about "thousands of hours of research" and "patent applications being prosecuted".
As far as I can see it is just a fancier version of the Steve Bedair ball cutter and I don't think even Steve Bedair would claim that it was his original idea.
He also says thet they should be available from August 2010 from Little Machine Shop. Haven't seen them there, so perhaps he's spending more "thousands of hours" on research.

cheers for that BS. The ball style wont be of use as the first thing I want to use it for is an internal radius like a cup shape which I dont think those ones can do? . Basically a cup to fit a 50mmdia ball.
Looks like I will have to have a go at making a quickieI know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.
