As I said on PM, great job have you made any chips yet?

It's strange (or stupid) that Hare and Forbes machines all come with 240v powerfeeds standard but to buy a extra one's they only sell 110v.You would think they would just order extra powerfeeds from the same source since we only have 240v in Australia. If you want a 240v one you could contact the manufacturer from the link Fossil gave and see what sort of price they can do posted to you. There are new one's out, I can't find the link at the moment but they are supposed to repeat more precisely when hitting the stops and some other features. The chinese fellow was selling them online and also showed the packaging he was using. If I can find it I will put the link here.

.RC.
The first two HM52's that I had were fitted with 240v powerfeeds. The HM52 I have now which I just went and had a look at to double check because I have not used it yet is different to the others as it has a 240v to 220,240v to 110v and a 240v to 24v combined transformer unit and the powerfeed is 110v.They only have one container load of these new type mills and it is not their normal manufacturer.Normaly they have 240v powerfeeds on these models as the other 2 others I had did.I will now be able to do away with my external 110v transformer which is good as I can wire it into the machine when I refit my powerfeeds on this new machine. So it pays to check the machine you have for a transformer as in my case even the same model can have different wiring setup.Dave

Flicked this mob an e-mail last night , they dont generally sell to the public ,but will process my small order
The 240 volt one they sell is 135 lb , only the 110 in 150lb.
Price for the 240V power feed until is 180.00USD + 65.00USD for shipping No paypal or Visa , wire transfer of money only .Nor sure if this is a good idea .
I can get a 110 v power feed from the USD for the same price (240USD ) ) plus shipping ,but have to get a 240 /110 volt transformer ,but pay with credit card (security ).
Wad ya reckon ?

I would not bother if you have to pay that way I made a inquiry to a chinese tool mob a couple of weeks ago and received this for payment
Kindly please check the enclosed PI with our bank information for your information. Please transfer the money to our boss' account, which is a personal one. Please do not present anything about our company when you make the transfer. After you make the payment, please send us a payment bill copy to remind us checking our account. Thanks a lot.
I am not sending any money sounds like a scam!
The X and Y 150 lbs on Ebay off (ezaccessory) are only $279 US posted the Z is $310 and the X 135 lbs is $250.I would go for the ebay one's or a shop in the US at least you can get your money back through Paypal.

I'm tending to go that way , I don't like sending money Western Union to a boss' account.
Not saying that this particular company ( Fossils link) is a scam they seem to have some good stuff .
The parrallel sets look good.
Ive done a couple of outside Ebay deals with "onlineseller " off Ebay .
But he takes paypal.

Hi Dave no i haven't used the mill in its rebuilt state yet the lube and coolant arrived today all i have to do is aline the head with the table and i am done. I can then get a long list of jibes done as for the power feed mine is an align 500lb unit so i had to get a 110 v transformer but i got it for a good piece from the place i brute the mill from Modern Tools.

Chinese and Indian sellers only ever accept wire transfers, remember that large manufactures don't exactly deal with people only buying one item. They deal with importers who buy container loads, try running that through a credit card or paypal
Just saying, don't assume its a scam just because they want a wire transfer.

kats1719,
It will be like starting up a new machine and after all that hard work and time you will enjoy that mill for many years to come.I wish I could find a bridgeport for reasnable price my chinese mill would be gone in a flash.

I understand, but the part that got me with my invoice was,

Who knows it might not be a scam they may be honest but I am not sending several hundred to find out.

Fair enough, that does sound out of place - bit much to write off on a bad translation.
