O-Ring Supplier
I'm not sure this is the correct forum for my query, but there are so many well-informed and helpful people here I'll give it a go.
I need to replace an O-ring. Its from a garden spray and I don't know the material but I imagine its nothing too special. The size I need has OD about 58 mm. Can anyone suggest where in Sydney I might be able to buy a single (or perhaps 2) ring?. On-line searches produced several suppliers but they deal in 100s.
Thanks
Norman

Kev,
Can you be a bit more specific ? I tried my local Bunnies but they didn't want to know.
Thanks

+1 for bearing shops. Mine sells things like O-rings and split pins and anything else singly. Dunno how - or why - they do it really. But I'm glad they do.

+1 for bearing shops -
CBC locally (Melbourne) has been quite helpful when I needed one of this and one of that to stop oil coming out of an old Ford Dexta rear axle Hydraulic system. Not all was in stock but they got things.
I've also used BSC and found the local store had a bigger range in stock but also had a bigger minimum cash sale.
Both amazingly helpful.
One thing - the easy to get "O" rings are the imperial sizescheers

Mission Accomplished
Based on advice from this forum I sourced an O-ring from Hooper bearings in Mascot. The staff spent some time to find the best match they could to the damaged ring then let me have it for free. It works well. I'll definitely use them again.

Hello Norman,
I just measured the OD of the square section "O"ring which is used on the 50mm (2") S traps used under sinks and wash basins and they are very close to 58mm. The section is about 3mmx3mm . You will get these from plumbers supplies or most hardware stores. Russell

Most bearing supply shops have them

I've sourced the O-ring
Thanks for the recent posts with suggested sources. As I indicated a few days ago I was able to obtain an O-ring from Hoopers in Mascot so I'm set.
