    Default shaper

    hi new to metal forum,
    would like to hear from others interested in old machines.and restoring them.
    purchased a small hand operated shaper,has 5" stroke,very well made,not home made,but has no name.seen pictures of other shaper similar to adept no 2 shaper,any clues ?
    also purchased a small jewelers vise,50mm w 110m L 50mH has v j stacy stamped on it,
    any clues where this came from,it is a fantastic little vise
    any help would be greatly received.

    Hi John, welcome. Those items are a little outside the mainstream on this forum. A few of us have powered shapers, though I seem to remember there was also someone with a hand shaper. The name on the vise could be an owner's name. Got any pics?

    Hi John and welcome from me to.
    We will be calling you Popeye after you use that shaper for a bit.
    Like the others have said a couple of pictures might help us out.

    I was going to buy a manual shaper years ago, then thought twice because of being manually operated. It's amazing, the one I was going to buy went for around $350 where my Alba only cost $300, so they hold their value for some reason.
