    Hi Joe,

Those confusing swedes are at it again, Mine has the metric scale as well, and the manual has most dimensions in both metric and imperial, but the page with stroke length for the various models is just imperial. (no metric)

    Varmano Models.jpg

Just playing around with inserting attachments "in-line" to see if it works..

    Regards
    Ray

That's was weird... it flashed up the image for an instant then went back to just a link?

Thanks Graziano, manually inserting tags seems to work..

I'm pretty sure this one has all original handles. I found one broken one, that was probably on the vice. Yet there was one on the vice so maybe they had duplicates. All the rest are there.

Its going to be here for a while yet. I thought I was busy, but this afternoon my world just took a U - turn. I was at an Auction last Thursday, one of my first ever customers, went under. I picked up bugger all at the auction. Today I had a call that will keep me off the streets for the next month. I'll get Q's machine done before them, but those handles are here, if you can swing a trip this way, or can negotiate a deal with Quentin to borrow them for a few days.

    Regards Phil

    Thanks Phil,

I'll swing past and catch up, might be later in the week. I'll PM or phone when I have a workable plan.

    Hi Ray,

I am happy for you to borrow handles so as to get dimensions etc for making your own.

It would be best if you dealt with Phil directly as to the specifics of this arrangement so as to prevent triangular conversations - they get so confusing.

I hope it helps you with restoring your machine to full spec.

By the way, thanks for posting the Varnamo manual. I will have to work at interpreting it a bit - but that is part of the fun.

    Regards

    Quentin

I am moving this here from https://www.woodworkforums.com/f65/br...86/index9.html because I think it's a better fit. If you have posted in this thread I have you, so don't bother emailing me. I'm up to 48 machines so far. When I started the list in march 2011 we had 20. Will post what I have soon.

Update mine to 2 Douglas shapers, leave the Alba under mine as I may get it back but my hopes are not high.

Ok those updates are done. Maybe to reduce clutter, further update requests could be made by email (not PM)? Thanks.

    Great work, Bryan!
To make this a kind of reference for comparative purposes for future shaper buyers, perhaps you could add a field with a link to one or more photos of the identified shaper?
Some if not most of us have photos of our machines here laready, it would just be a matter of eash of us sending you the direct links to those photos.
    What do you think?
    Cheers,
    Joe

Joe, I'm happy to have got the basic job done, but don't want to be fussing with it forever. Less screen time is working better for me these days. Would you be interested in taking it to the next level?

PS: My edit permission has expired on that post. I would be keen to avoid having the list reposted every time it's updated. I wonder if it's possible for one or more members to have permanent edit permission for a certain post only?

See Fred (Big Shed) Bryan as he is a mod and is here most of the time and maybe able to edit it for you each time.
