    Default Slotting Tools

    I picked up a Slotting Head for my Turret Mill off Ebay a couple of weeks ago, the Hare and Forbes one. Just wondering if anyone offers a set of toolbars for one of these? No problem to make them myself, but sometimes chequebook engineering is the way to go!

    We have a set at work made by impero, who I think are part of groupe saftey (who i think are now owned by sandvik). The set has 3 different size bars and 8 different sizes of insert to suit metric keyways. We have found them really good at work, the price is the killer the set was $1200. It is well worth it for us at work but it might not suit you. I'm pretty sure terrivin tools still sell them.

    I just use my lathe boring bars in my slotter - those boring bars with a 90 deg square hole at one end and a 45 deg hole at the other. I've got a fair few custom ones as well, broken centre drills are good for all sorts of things and I have a lot of them, courtesy of TAFE students many years ago.

    i have a 8mmx3oomm keyway cutting toolbit made by dumont its almost like a broaching tool with lots of teeth not used pm me if interested
