Specialty Steel Supply
Hi All,
Looking to get some 4140 (or similar) in various diameters to have on stock and to work through a range of projects in the workshop practice books that I think would benefit from steel that could be hardened (like plug gauges, test bars, cylindrical squares, morse tapers etc). I used to get it from Precision Metals but it looks like they are shut now?
I also want to get some 12L14 or similar free cutting steel too. I have a mate who is brand new to machining and I remember that using this stuff got my confidence up when I was brand new and cutting mild steel was a hassle. Pipeclay I think you sourced some of this for me about 15 years ago!
If anyone can recommend a supplier that will post that would be great. I am in Canberra and there's nothing here.
Brendan
