I have just recently purchased a Kent SGS 1224AHD surface grinder. So far, I have identified two issues. The cross travel hand wheel won’t budge and the spindle handwheel will lower easily but won’t raise past the original position, which is about half way up the column.

I believe the cross travel problem could be a result of the seller lifting the grinder with a sling around the apron instead of the lifting lugs. The rear of the apron lifted about 6” and has likely bent the threaded rod used for cross travel. My question here is does anyone have details about how to remove the table and the apron so I can assess any damage?

This machine had been out of service for a while and some things seemed to be “frozen” perhaps due to grinding grit. The longitudinal travel moves but does not really glide freely. I have no clue as to why the spindle raising is an issue, so any help here would be appreciated.
