I don't possess a TIG welder, only my little stick Transarc. Making the puller was simple.
Here are the shims I purchased Peter.

Hey, the puller worked, end of problem. More than one way to get the job done.
FWIW before I got my shoebox TIG off of PeteF (thanks Pete) I used a big rectifier on my AC stick welder and that got me scratch start DC TIG. I can't really recommend it though it does work.
Thanks for the shim link, they don't list the size I need but it's given me some clues for further searching before I resort to the scissors.
