Tightening them moves the needle all over the place so you tighten them to get them into what position you want...
Some things are worth fiddling with. The lower right hand screw was loose. Now it's not and the O is at 12 o'clock. Thank you Richard.

Damn! Maybe I did it the hard way, but well done on another Haimer discovery.
(Probably not - it needed far more than a few 0.01mm)

    Default bought this today

yep i picked this up today , have wanted one for a long time . i am going to strip it down and give it a rebuild needs a new motor the old one is well past it , i have a replacement which i am going to pinch off a sander i built a while back . i also have 2 x 3phase motors i could use one of those if i could work out how to wire one of them to single phase . anyway thought i would put a picture or 2 in here and see if anyone could shed any light on the maker cos i cant find a name anywhere on it , each casting has a number cast into it and thats all i have been able to find so far i thought some one may know what make it is , i think it may be from the the era just as we went from stone age to iron age but not sure on that .got some blades coming from the uk for it too.
motor mount is not standard equipment as you can tell from the pic .

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

With thanks and blame to BT for one of them.

I finally have an endoscope(well not really its in fact a bore scope).. shame its missing a part so does work all that well.

I bought a $5 set of scales which were just shocking inaccurate, having got my money back I figured I had nothing to lose by pulling it apart, holding little hope of being able to fix it, before tossing it in the bin. A couple of pieces of plastic, broken off during assembly one of which had jammed itself on top of the strain gage.....a quick flick and its good to go.

Default Look what followed me home

A very nice purchase there Keith

Mine is not so grand....but useful.

I had to take a trailer load to the tip today, so we went into the tip shop as usual. I was actually looking for some pipe of a certain id....none to be found. But i did find these. The U channel is 250x75 about 5' long, $10. The arm swivels 180 deg, is 9' long and has a trolly on it. Coupled with a little 250kg electric hoist and mounted somehow(thats the hard bit) it will do nicely for getting things on and off the Leblond, Mill and Blohm. $40....
The child just wouldn't stay out of the photo......Priceless

Nope he just wants you to hurry up to get it home and erected had a similar toy [annoy] shop at the same age never gone away still a 3 yo 61 yo. Get it up quick dad.

Good thinking too planning for lifting heavy stuff its only when you need it at a later stage retro thoughts come into action. As the old man used to say ''let the horse do it''.

I see an array of TPG wheels in a photo, both internal and external. Was there a TPG for sale?

Great pick up by the way.

    Hi Rob,
There is still a couple of Grinders for sale, one is a very special build for sharpening Side and Face Cutters that came out of Hawker De Havilland, it has some bits missing. There also was a universal type Grinder that may suite, It may have gone by now and it also was missing some parts.
These units are at Pendle Hill NSW, if you are interested in looking at them I can see if you can visit the Factory. He had some very large Mills still for sale, NT50 Types, would have loved to get one but that would have ended in my divorce.

    Regards,
    Keith.

I am not sure if bringing the child home from the tip was a wise move.... Probably a defective model, out of warranty and unable to be returned to the manufacturer... Thus the reason why it was at the tip in the first place...

    Hi Keith,

I have a TPG and saw the stones and wondered if you missed out on a TPG, or already had one.

VERY handy item to have if you need to go for the ultimate finish or are machining hard stuff.

The external stones look to have a large diameter centre and would need bushing for a standard (small) TPG. Internal ones look like they would fit OK.

    But a good pick up.

    Cheers

    Rob
