Useful ? Circular lathe mounted filing disc
Stumbled over this photo on pinterest. Might be of interest to some people.
Its a circular file, with radially aligned teeth, mounted on the lathe, wondered why I hadn't seen them before.
Seems handy ? Genuinely don't know. My initial thoughts were "Not used any more replaced by diamond discs and modern abrasive sandpaper discs and abrasive wheels"
Big advantage you don't get abrasive material scattered all over the ways and around the spindle. That's why I've never tried grinding stuff on lathe.
If you want a frustrating time try googling them - all of the key words I tried are ambiguous.
Anybody familiar with them ? What are they called please ?
Bill
