I have a similar size 3 phase motor waiting to go on my lathe, it's S/H but a reputable brand motor none the less and in good nick, it cost me $30. Just need to keep looking. Simon,

Pretty much settled on a VFD and 3 phase motor. Picked up a 3 phase motor from my Dad's shed on the weekend - can't argue about the cost (free) but may be a bit big for my application so I am still looking.

    BobL,

It is for a buffing / polishing setup that I am building. This thread has more details: https://www.woodworkforums.com/f65/buffing-setup-187886

    Grant,

No idea, the motor wasn't marked and I didn't pull it apart to find out. Works fine though, plenty of torque even down at 25 Hz.

    Cheers,
