Used the wrong primer and it is chipping off. So it needs to be stripped again and sprayed with an etch primer. Although I have bought the new primer this has stalled my motivation. I decided to reassemble the drill before I lost any bits...oops to late. The badge seems to have wandered off someplace.
Also think maybe there is something amiss with the lever, shaft return spring assembly. The shaft can slide to the left and pop the spring out on the other side.
The small screw below the knurled depth stop in think should retain it in position??? But it doesn't.
Got some original holddowns off evilbay they look like they have never been used. They need a endmilled down the slots to remove the highspots off the rough cast surface as the bolts won't slide through freely.…..Live a Quiet Life & Work with your Hands

I think I have an idea why the feed shaft doesn't retain. I'll have to investigate but I had two retaining springs and one is wider than the other, if I change the springs the shaft may sit in a slightly different position and I may then find that little screw lines up with a groove in the shaft which it currently doesn't. Fingers crossed.

Turns out the springs were the same width so that thought was wrong. Pondering it a while longer. What if the little bolt was broken??
So I made a few measurements and turned up a new one with a stepped down tip.
Works perfectly
Now I just need to make the motor mount adapter plate and fit a switch and start using it. Just fixing these few details is tempting me to pull it apart again and do the paintwork.…..Live a Quiet Life & Work with your Hands

Yep it has to be stripped back to bare metal again, which is why I stalled in my progress.

waldown 8SN table rack
Hi all
High jacking the thread a bit I was wondering if anyone has experience with the Waldown 8sn table lift mechanism. When I purchased my unit the table lift was not operational. The rack rod was missing as was the crank handle. All of the other gear was there albeit a little worn. So Ive made a new rack rod using the worm gear as a patter which seems to mesh we with the left gear however I am not having much luck with the worm to lift gear interface. The worm seems to bind up with the lift gear and won't lift the rack rod.
Has anyone had much experience with fixing this mechanism?
Any help is much appreciated.
Cheers
