Armadillo Face Shield impressions
My old face shield got cracked a couple of weeks ago so I was in the market for a new one, after seeing numerous recommendations for the Armadillo here I ordered one from Blackwoods for $24.
Picked it up today and I'm astounded at how much better it is than the one I spent $30 on from Bunnings. Shield comes well past my chin and provides decent neck protection when head is tilted slightly down, the old one barely covered my chin. The best part of it though is the plastic they made the visor out of, it is CRYSTAL clear. Probably won't stay that way long but will be a big improvement for me, my old visor and goggles combo had me half blind if the sun wasnt out.
Very happy for the price, will probably buy another just as a backup. Their safety glasses are also excellent (Prosafe brand), they use the same material as the visor and cost me 8ish dollars.

I've been using the Armadillo for far to long to remember. Its about the best face shield available for wood workers / turners on the Oz market. Cheap face and brow protection imo, and as you have commented also offers some neck protection. I think you will find that the visor will stand up to regular use very well and does not scratch easily if treated with some respect. I purchased a spare visor but have had no requirement to replace it so far. The visual acuity is the best that I have come across in a face shield.

I have 3 of these, one in the shed, one at the mens shed, and one in my van with all my chainsaw gear.
The one in my shed is due for a visor replacement after being hit a few times by angle grinder sparks
They also make great presents.

Yep
I bought one years ago, was so impressed, I took it to my Wood turning club and now heaps of members have them. And yes, compared to the crap ones you can purchase at Bunnings, they are brilliant

Yeah i'm thinking of getting one just for angle grinding, I use mine a lot and the visor cops a beating. Means I can keep the other one nice and clear for turning.
Bought twenty of the Prosafe P2 vented dust masks and they are also really well made for the price. $17 for ten so I'm not worried about having to throw them away when I'm done.

a hint to clean - a well known turner over here in NSW suggests windex and paper toweling, seems to workregards

You have caught my attention with this - but I cannot seem to source them in South Aust. Blackwoods will send me one, but want $40.00 for postage - almost twice the cost of the guard!
