    As an apprentice fitter & turner, over 30 years ago, one of the first safety things I was taught was no gloves or loose clothing when working with rotating machinery. Over the years I have known people who have had some bad accidents as a result of not following this rule. I had one workmate dragged into a metal lathe when a small thread of his frayed cuff got picked up by the job he was turning, luckily he only got a fractured arm & a big scare.
