Protecting little fingers from electrocution.
I got this idea from the web but adapted it to cope with wall warts.
It effectively encapsulates electrical expansion boards inside a piece of poly pipe with two PVC end caps.
Slots narrow enough (e.g. for the input cord on one of the end caps and the output cords on the main tube) are cut into the pipe using a fine tooth table saw and the sharp edges filed smooth.
I have fixed the end caps on with two self tappers but one end could be glued on if required.
It would also be possible to make a simple bayonet catch so a screw driver would not be needed.
As well as being safer for little kids it also stops our vacuum robot getting caught up in the cords.

Slots could be cut more or less anywhere and as well as allowing the expansion board to stand up thereby decluttering desks and floors, the 100 mm pipe version will allow most wall warts to fit inside them like this. Have also made some longer ones from 75 mm ducting for the 6 way narrow switchless type expansion boards.

Good point - but most expander boards are sealed or pretty well sealed so it would be no different.
For wall wart models a few vent holes should keep that sorted.
