Best remedy i know of is get out there and do something, even if you dont finish it you will be surprised how the other worries seem less while you are thinking about the wood work you are doing.

Good luck and i know it's no help but you are not the first and wont be the last that experiences this part of life

I agree with that, it's what I do to forget my worries for when you are flat out doing things you don't have time to mope around.

Yeh head down the shed, cut out a rough shape that represents her head, beat the crap out of it with the hammer, bash some nails into it, split it into splinters with an axe, burn the pieces...... Ok perhaps I am getting carried away.

Geez Sheddie, sorry to hear things not so good.

Gotta agree with the others advice - get into the shed. When things seem a bit out of control for me, bit of 'therapy' with the tools always seems to work. Retreat into the shed where I am in control of things works wonders. Sometimes just a few hours will do it, sometimes its a few hours a few times a week for a few weeks.

Chin up mate. Hope your luck has turned for the better.

Obviously not the best of times Sheddie and it will take time and effort to get back on an even keel. Head to the shed, get active and GET HELP. you are entitled to counselling. See your GP and get the paperwork done.

Sounds like you have had a very rough run Sheddie, hope things start to turn up for you soon. Supposedly doing something helps, so perhaps something small and easy in the shed eh!

Hey mike, damn mate really sorry to hear u not doing so well, i had wondered where u had disappeared to. I'll add my vote to getting out to the shed for a while. Even just doing some cleaning up in the shed with the radio blaring my favorite tunes helps to pick me up when down & u know theres always some cleaning thats needed to be done in the shed, mine seems to get pigged up so easily!
Counciling has also been mentioned & i'll also second that vote. Us guys are way too quick to shake our heads at the idea of councilling but just talking problems out with a complete stranger who won't judge you is worth its weight in gold.

Thanks for the kind thoughts guys. really appreciate the support. I see my GP every 4 weeks for a long chat and I'm on some pretty potent 'happy' pills so hopefullt things will look up soon. The bloody workers comp system for federal employees is a joke. No pay until they accept the claim. So no income of any sort since 27 January. Gettin sick of pasta and Paul Newman sauce (its cheap) No word yet. But I live in hope.

Accept the claim? You were only at work for a few months, and now you're expecting us to believe you can't work any more?

There is another story here somewhere ... either things are morbidly rotten in the staffing of members of parliament, or this is just another taxpayer-funded rort.

I'm very sorry to hear about your relationship problem - I know how that feels from personal experience - and I know how it is when the finances get bad ... but now you know what most self-employed people go through on a regular basis.

If you are "lucky", it is because there is a soft-touch government, paid for by us, that you can touch for a soft ride into the future

Sounds like you are on the mend Sheddy, hope things stay on the up and up. People have different experiences I suppose so this may not work for you, but when I had some low spots and people told me to "do the right thing by my loved ones" or you hear that spoken to others in a similar predicament, that didn't help me zot. But I know a young fella with dreams and aspirations who worked hard, studied hard and put in his best to get me to where I am now and that young fella deserves that I continue to put in my best, because he didn't give up on me. I'm pretty sure there's a young fella behind you who would feel the same way
