| |  10-2-12 Repeat of Last Week but Different Timber
This week we made another Copper Longwood Click pen because that was the last kit we had on hand. The timber we thought was Ironbark but when we turned it it was too soft for Ironbark so we don't really know what it is so if any one can identify it that would be great. Enjoy. |

Going well there  The blank looks a little narrow at the nib end. Have you thought about finishing the turning on the lathe a little earlier and just sanding down to the reqired thickness. Its a bit slower but a lot more accurate. |

I think Plantagenon's idea is a good one. DDoing this will give a much more satisfying result. |

Nice piece of timber for that kit. If I could suggest one thing, try measuring the hardware with calipers and matching the turning diameter that way. You get some kits, from time to time, that do not match up to bushing diameters.

Your pen looks very nice, I think the timber could be Red Gum, as it appears to have a swirly pattern to the grain.
