there are some mighty nice pens being posted so far, they make my hands perspire with anticipation

i have made a couple of the Zen pens from CSUSA and the magnets are pretty strong, i would think that they are rare earth magnets in them

Default You have really made my day

I can't thank NewLondon88 enough .... coming home from a rather unpleasant day at work with a killer headache (- have returned to work after 12 months off was hard, today was just worse!!!) - and there, on the bench, was not one but TWO parcels!!!! I opened the first, and the first blank I see is a purple resin (purple been one of my colours as it goes with my purple Steel Ble boots that I wear everywhere ...) and COFFEE BEAN blanks (only dreamt about using them one day .... then came the second box and WOW a BEAUTIFUL pen box complete with our property sign engraved on it STUNNING and a beautiful pen inside and MORE blanks.

Thank you, thank you, thank you you certainly brightened my day!

I hope NewLondon88 is not disappointed with his parcel

He is NOT disappointed! Got home last night to find a big parcel wrapped
in shopping bags to keep away the snow.
She said she was sending a few blanks, but it looks like a virtual forest in there!
And not only one pen, but TWO!

I need to take some pictures this afternoon when I get to the shop. There's all
sorts of goodies waiting for me. Woody plum, peppermint, birdseye jarrah..

Glad everything got there in good order. I figured the box was a good chance
    to try out the laser..

    Thanks, Jen!

    Hi NewLondon88
are they feathers in the resin of the pen you made?? Certainly looks like it. Asked my Bronze Wing pigeon Weet Bix (raised from a bush orphan of hours old, currently still residing in the house like lord of the manor - also had 4 red cap parrots about the same time) and he seems to think it is too!!! His feathers have a beautiful sheen to them, hence the name, they'd look very special!!

    still amazed. thank you

The photo fails to highlight this wonderful work…Peter (penpal) has done a extremely detailed job of fashioning a hexagon shaped pen, and used a kit I have never seen before.
Along with the desk rest, it is one of the most beautiful objects of art in my collection.
    Trust me, the talent shows.
    Thanks again, Peter.

Ed, You are a very lucky owner of an fantistic pen and holder done by a fantistic craftsman. Congrats too you both.

Yes, those are pheasant feathers. I love those blanks! JohnU makes them (IAP member)
and has some on exoticblanks.com .. but we did some horse trading I'm trying to
get him to do a different kit that I think they'd also look good on.

You may have to sedate the bird, first. I don't know HOW they know, but they know.
    (and they bite!)

I walk around with a pair of scissors singing "Heeeere birdy, birdy, birdy .. come on,
birdy, I won't hurt you..." but to no avail. Then the zookeeper throws me out.

    Look what I got

Its a magnificent Statesman in Rhodium and Black Titanium wrapped in a blank called Burnt Copper. The pen also came with some blanks aswell which look brilliant.

The fit and finish on this pen is perfect, I just hope that my pen lives up to this standard.

Thanks Alan (arjudy) its a wonderful pen.

I have to say that is one very nice pen and box, very impressive indeed.
    Touchwood is one lucky person

Now I liberated my parcel from the Post Office today ... All the way from the metropolis of North Pole from Iceworm. Looks like USPS beat Aussie Post.
    Here are the piccies

Both pens are Curly Koa and finished with renaissance wax. One pen was sent for SWMBO it's a Longwood kit, the larger pen is an Ultra Cigar

Iceworm also sent me some blanks. From the top, Koa, Cherry, Flame Box Elder, Ironwood and Cherry Burl, all blanks were stabilised. He also threw in a number of more pieces described as "offcuts"

Thanks heaps mate, this is an awesome

Look up North Pole on google maps
