8mm brass tubes
I am having difficulty identifying a supplier who has the 8 mm brass tubes for the click pen in stock. None of the major suppliers have them. Appreciate any advice as to where I can purchase them.

What she (and I) do is at
Possums Run Glass Art & Wood 'n Things
There's only the one shot of the 'scope, and none yet of the timber-framed stained glass panels.
There are a lot of the "quirky birds" as they sell their socks off, as do the cactus..

Hi Daryl,
I have been purchasing some brass tube off eBay - who offer a range of diameters in 500 mm lengths. The eBay shop is https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/echoii_m...53.m2749.l2654 - which offers a lot of strange items. However, among the items there are brass tubes. On eBay some tubes are .5 mm wall and others are close to or 1 mm wall. I do not know what you need for pens, the ones above are close to 1 mm wall I believe.
In the western suburbs of Brisbane there is a business that sells a wide range of brass and copper tubes and other stock George Weston and Sons. George Weston . Look at what they have. It does seem to be mostly imperial sizes. The sizes I bought - for ferrules for turned tools -were not critical in mm.

I have recently been buying brass (and titanium) tubes from the land of the red star (china) and so far not 1 piece of rod or tube has lived up to spec's. if you have a look at the specifications they have a tolerance of +/- 0.01 or something similar, I'd be happy with that but these tubes are so far out its not funny. I needed a 5mm ID tube and it came in at 4.93.
just giving you the heads up that if for pen kits, they may be way off kilter.

When you say you have checked all the main suppliers does that mean you have already looked at Timberbits?

These guys are in Brisbane.
I do know they were shutting down some of the business. so not sure how that effects the Brass Tubing listed about. Have always found them easy to deal with. It's Ripping Time!!!

Be careful of brass tubes for pen kits, both the inside and outside diameters are often critical, and non-standard. That's how I ended up with so many tubes to make mosaic pins for knives from .
What click pen do you need them for? I have a heap of tubes and might be able to help you outNeil____________________________________________Every day presents an opportunity to learn something new

Most of the brass tube I have bought from hobby shops is imperial. What they call 8mm when you ring them up is actually 5/16” (which is 7.93mm) which they actually think is close enough

Hello Neil, it's for the local men's shed. They are the Dayacom click pens purchased from GPW. Gary will have tubes but not until some time in the new year.
