Amazing Prices for pens
Hey everyone. Had to go down to Brisvegas for several days last week, and as I was wandering around Queen St Mall, I happened to come across 'The Pen Shoppe' in the Brisbane Arcade. They sell up-market pens and pen box's and accessories etc. To be honest, most of the pens were pretty plain and ordinary looking, (except for the gold & diamond encrusted one's), compared to the ones us guys make, and the prices were out of this world !. Anyway, here is a link to their on-line catalog. Cheers.

They have been there a long while. It really is a speciality pen store for the wealthy. The base price for a Mont Blanc began at $900 last time I looked and that was a plain MeisterStruck. My favourite is the Mont Blanc followed by the Waterman. I managed to pick up a 1978 Waterman fountain pen and pen set - totally unused with original box and receipts from a lady in Brisbane over EBay for $60. It had been lying in a cupboard unopened for years. I love the rollerball and the nib on the fountain pen - but I would hate to have to buy a new one from the Pen Shoppe now.

Yeah I used to pass by that shop every day on the way to work, and I'd have a quick look in the window. Amazing how a brand name, a shiny glass case and bright lighting can raise the price of an ordinary looking pen.

Tried to interest them in some pens but they are very arrogant!
A mate sold a few through them but their terms were too tough. Held on consignment and they kept the majority of the sale money.

As a jewellery artist. That is pretty standard. The gallery keep your stock and charge 50% of the sale price.
The artist also has to keep track of what is sold in the gallery for tax purposes and of course if your work is in their back room it's not availiable for you to sell elsewhere.
It may seem strange but the fact that they actually looked at your pens is a big compliment to you.
There is no money to be made in art.

Looked through the link provided....didn't see any pricing?
But then again, I probably looked right through them......or something.

The prices are in the fine print at the bottom of the page. Easy to miss.
