    Default Amboyna burl SN Gent

    Hi everyone,

Here's an Amboyna burl SN Gent rollerball.
I didn't pay for this blank - it came as a freebie perhaps with a large order - or possibly from my pen swap partners along the way - sorry I can't quite remember!

Anyway, it has been finished with 20 coats of thin CA then micro-mesh. Hope you like it.
    Simon.

Amboyna is a beautiful wood and you have done a supurb job on this one.
I was lucky enough to have a couple of blanks gifted to me by a very special person on this forum, and the first one went on to a Majestic kit. They made a great combination.

    Thanks for the comments everyone.
Yes, it's an amazing timber, and this is why I used the SN Gent kit. It is large and lets the wood grain do it's thing, without needing the bling of a Roman Harvest etc.

I would love to score a thicker piece of this timber, because I would really like to make something chunkier out of it (coffee tamper, bottle stopper etc)
