    Default Anzac Day Pens

A couple of pens I just finished. They have been donated to my local RSL to raffle off, they will be drawn on Anzac Day.

The Cigar is made from some of the Gallipoli Pine that died in the local Anzac Park. It has a few coats of CA to seal and protect, and Hut wax on top.
The Sierra has a Poppy blank donated by Mik, many thanks Mik.
Hopefully they will do alright with these, the last pen I gave them raised $320 from the raffle. This time the area is doing it tough with Cyclone Debbie just passed through here, but I am hoping people will still find the money to buy the tickets.

Cheers Peter. I had a good mentor for inspiration early on ( in yourself ) . And Mik, well his blanks are on another level.

The blue stain has given some of the blanks I have cut, some good character. Some of the others look a bit bland though, but it's still Gallipoli Pine.

Cheers Neil. They start selling tickets today at their stalls that they sell badges etc, at a few locations around the area. I printed them some photos of the pens because they cant have the pens at all the stalls.

I hope they go without problem for you Mik. I like what you are doing with the badges there.

Anzac Day has snuck up fast on me too, we had cyclone Debbie, then Easter, now all of a sudden its next Tuesday.
I spoke with one of the blokes yesterday, he said they are not going to draw it on Tuesday, but wait until their next meeting. Gives them a bit more time to sell tickets, and they will be pretty drunk on Tuesday so at the next meeting might be a good idea.
