Thread: banksia pod and resin

I love the effect you have achieved there, looks really good.
Did you do the casting ? If so what sort of resin did you use ?

Impressed with the cast and the use of the cone it displays so well inserted this way. Resembles a series of flames in a Desert. Strong impact mate.

I think that is an Epoxy, I remember another thread just recently where that brand was mentioned.

wonderful. .. it shows that fissures, holes & cracks in woods can be made into a feature instead of firewood. Just as they have in much feature woods in furniture, I love it when bit of wood art (or their nuts) show their origins, or their history.

Looks great. Pods of all description are amazing when cast and turned.
