Thanks mate. I was told it came from Canada. It is Nootka Cypress, research shows it grows in Alaska and North America as well. If it didn't come from overseas you could say it was nearly Birdseye Huon Pine

Thanks mate, just to many figjams and I walked away because I knew I'd say something I shouldn't. Time to come back, I have mellowed only a tad though.

Crickey...I assumed it was Deep Yellowwood (Rhodosphaera rhodanthema),also known as Yellow Cedar and similar in appearance.
I would imagine 'Birdseye' Nootka Cypress would be difficult to obtain as well though
    Again,what a delightful looking pen...MM

Very nice pen kit too - love the stainless look. Most plated kit parts look a bit tacky to me, but the s/s looks fantastic.

I assume the kits are priced accordingly?? Google reveals they are made in the UK, but is there a local supplier?

    Cheers

I bought mine for the UK but there are suppliers in the US. Can't remember who right now

Thanks - UK looks like the maker, all the US sites I've seen are just resellers.

That is one spectacular looking pen !!

I got mine from the us. Turners warehouse. Came to about $40 a pop including a bit for postage etc. The people at turners warehouse were really helpful and accommodating (I made some annoying requests which they were very happy to help out with )
At $40 I suggest they're at the higher end kit scale (equivalent to a Tycoon) whilst not being insane.
I'd say they're my new favourite kit for the same reason Mr.bush - gold plating looks tacky - even on higher end kits in my opinion

As Gabriel said, they are quality and the coupling for the cap is all metal which is another selling point for me. Just have to go back and order a few fountain pens next.
