Black Palm
Black palm Sedona gold ! finish is quite glossy on the black bits and less shiny in between, overall looks a nice pen, I drilled the blanks and soaked in wood hardener overnight, had no problems turning it ,I was concerned after seeing some other posts on this material, all went well hehe, finish ended up being wipe-on-poly !
cheers ! JohnG'day all !Enjoy your stay !!!

Nice pen Gp.
I would personally use a plain centre band so as not to make things look too busy, considering the wonderful grain in the Black Palm.

John, well done, Black Palm is more precarious when Xcut, with the grain and stabilized like you did is much safer. Really like the pen Amos

Oh, Black Palm blank. And here I thought you were asking about hand cleansers.
Looks pretty good I reckon.

Very nice. I have a piece of black palm that I pick up and put down regularly after looking at the grain pattern.
What is wood hardener?

Ashes, the wood hardener is something I picked up in the paint section at Mitre 10. its designed to soak into rotten wood and strengthen it so no need to replace, such as dry rot window sills etc, after its dry you fill and work it for a repair, I just thought to try it on some of the softer spalted woods for stabalising, seems to work ok for that, Its a white milky watery stuff and drys clear, I usually immerse my blanks for treatment overnight, and then let dry , doesn;t take long, I just pour the remainder back in the container , so far works well. cheers John
