I'm sure the members of our group may find this amusing if not a little spooky....

Interesting to say the least. Very complicated mechanism though, I would have thought it would have been easier just to use a standard nib and just dip it in blood, should also avoid the blobs.

I can only think of two reasons to write in blood. The judge already told me "No More Ransom Notes!" and as for selling my soul? Never again..
He should be a doctor .. not because of the blood, but because of his handwriting..

Why?

What a disgrace. No doubt the "artist" received a grant worth more than the average woodworker receives in a whole year and for what? A stupid pen that uses blood and dosnt even write properly. So what was his reason for it? (apart from money) We shouldnt even be promoting such a stupid concept.

Are we sure thats really blood? I never saw the needle actually in him and that cotton ball/bandage looked rather firmly in place. Could be something else or animal blood, with just the theatrics thrown in to make you assume he really just drew his own blood.
It didn't work very well either and must be a bear to hold, ran out rather quickly and was very blotchy. You'd need fresh blood all the time or an anticoagulate added.
As the others have said, Why?Wood. Such a wonderful substance.
