The turning looks good, the colours are good too, but maybe that style of pen doesn't look good. What has been the problem with the lathe, is it off centre?? Amos

Yes the lathe is a turncrafterpro from psi and latly I have been blowing blanks apart like no tomorow, the centers are off about 1/32" I called psi and was told to try to shim. I sliped some razerblades under the headstock and it helped tomorow I am gonna tear it apart and clean and regrease it/ hopefully this will do the trick.
I like the style of the pen I know alot of the turners do not. The reason I do not like this one cause I did not color the tube and it showes through.

IVE FOUND when turning acrylics put them in the lathe put a light over the top of them for a few minutes so they get warm not hot just warm then they dont tend too shatter.

    Default Blue worm

Like the pen, cannot see the tube, its good to me,no evidence of out of round, interested to hear reason for your distress. If it is gross missalignment either in height or in the width an engineer could correct that for you, make friends with one.Grease on the bed will make it worse attracting shavings etc.
Have a friend who always uses WD40 on the bed etc,I would use it to clean then remove. Sorry we are so far away to not be only sympathetic rather than help. Peter

mate be careful of the fingers with razor blades ou might need them later. I understand they are thin but they are mighty sharp too. Hate to see no bloodshed that hurts later.

    Default The attractive worm

Just reread your post, apology grease the inside of the tail stock but not the part of the shaft that protudes, that collects dust. Where I live 14 degrees is forecast for Wed next,in our winter sounds like a heat wave from minus 5 or so but we have been having a normalish spring 30 degrees and down and up again.Daughter visited in August from Logan Utah, husband said he wants to come to live in Canberra positive heatwave as Cache valley has 8 months of winter.
Dont do any other acrylic other than Corian but quite taken with the range of colours and versatility. Enjoy your pens, keep them coming. Peter
