    Default Brown Malle Burl Liberty

I put this nice piece of Brown Mallee Burl on a stainless steel Liberty kit from Lazerlinez.

That's a unique piece of burl. All the ones I have seen appear to be similar pattern all around, but not yours.
I have a real liking for Mallee Burls, red or brown. Great looking pen, really classy.

Thanks Dallas. It sure is a nice piece of burl, it had some sapwood along one edge which left that pattern when turned.
It looked like a snake zigzagging across the blank, but as I turned more off the pattern started to break up unfortunately. Still happy with it though.
I have enough off the same blank for 2 more single tube pens, or one double tubed pen.

Outstanding use of a beautiful blank of what I call one of the best timbers in the world. My mate near my house had 1500 pieces of this burl years ago and gave the task of sharing at my cost these blanks. I shared them with members of this forum.

Loved the sapwood influences, exciting colour and conformation Brad.

Cheers Peter, it is right up there with a small handful of others that I can think of, very nice stuff.
I am not 100% sure where this piece came from, but if I had to take a good guess, I would say it came from Ben. If it did come from him, it possibly came from you originally. It’s nice to look at in the square and the round .

Edit= forgot to add, there are faces in this one too
